The Fifth Sentence Meme

Call it jumping on the bandwagon…

This is the meme:

1. Grab the nearest book.
2. Open the book to page 123.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the text of the sentence in your journal along with these instructions.
5. Don’t search around and look for the “coolest” book you can find. Do what’s actually next to you.

So what do I end up with? This:

” To identify a building, the reader must detect and enlarge a number in the drawing, turn some pages, and rotate the book — a clumsy process indeed. ” — Visual Explanations, Edward R. Tufte

I traced the meme-path back a bit (till it seemed to loop back on itself). All the post dates are from the last couple of days, and I only got this far: beatnikblog, inkstain, Pharyngula, Playing School, Irreverently, The Chronicles of Dr. Crazy, feministe, media girl, Lab Kat, Bark Bark Woof Woof, PSoTD, Redd Turtle Research & Creative Copy, …and then back to feministe…
