FU vees?

This article, snatched from the International Herald Tribune (nods to Shifty Gypsy), originally in the New York Times), sums up all the “bad habit” practices of large corporations. This time it’s Subaru, and the “Light Truck” classification loophole. Is noone paying attention?

One of the scariest lines of the article is this one: “Light trucks account for more than half of all passenger vehicles sold in the country, up from a fifth in the late 1970’s.” Match that with an earlier line, “The average fuel economy for new vehicles is lower now than it was two decades ago, despite advances in fuel-saving technology.”, and you see why It’s so… well… slimy.
